Rattler Family, the Magazine Homecoming Festival is just around the corner, and there are so many fun and exciting events and activities planned for the weekend of Oct. 28-29 at Hank Stone City Park and Magazine Schools. Activities get underway at 3:30 p.m. on Friday with the Magazine High School Student Chef Showdown in the cafeteria, followed by a spaghetti supper (dine in or take out) in the cafeteria at 5 p.m. and a fun Movie Night in the Park for the kids beginning at dusk. Rattler Family, our senior high cheerleaders will be hosting "Princess For a Day" for elementary students on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m.-noon at the Magazine Schools Safe Room. Cost is $15 and includes a manicure, make-up and tea party (pink or regular lemonade). Manicures and make-up will be by the cheerleaders. Rattler Family, Magazine Schools would like to thank the Logan County Sheriff's Association for their $850 grant to help support our upcoming Red Ribbon Rally on Oct. 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the high school football field. The grant proposal was written by Elementary School Counselor Shanna Moore.
At the rally, we will have contests, music, a health fair and a vaping education presentation for parents, and the Sheriff's Department deputies will have a drunk driving prevention booth. All activities are free.
