Rattler Family, those wishing to recommend a student for Gifted and Talented services are encouraged to do so at this time. Teachers, staff members, parents, community members, and students may make referrals. Students may be identified 2-12, but formal services begin in third grade. When making referrals, please consider the Arkansas Department of Education definition: “Gifted and talented children and youth are those of high potential or ability whose learning characteristics and educational needs require qualitatively differentiated educational experiences and/or services. Possession of these talents and gifts, or the potential for their development, will be evidenced through an interaction of above average intellectual ability, task commitment and/or motivation, and creative ability.” Please contact Amy Pickartz, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, at 1-866-900-2001 or amy.pickartz@magazinek12.com. All referrals must be returned to the Gifted/Talented Coordinator. Referrals will be accepted until March 20.
