
Rattler Family, several parents and seniors attended FASFA Night last night (Thursday, Oct. 16). FASFA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This also qualifies the student for scholarship aid such as the ARFuture grant, Arkansas Challenge and Challenge Plus, institutional scholarships and more. Seniors interested in 2-year, 4-year, and certifications are now applying for those colleges and institutions during October to celebrate "I Applied" month. Students are given the opportunity to talk with recruiters and tour college campuses during the school year in order to make the best decision for them. Rattler Family, we have two popular events coming up later this month at Magazine Schools for our area families. The Magazine Community Trunk or Treat will be from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, in the high school and MOP parking lot. This free event provides candy for kids in a safe, fun environment. Also, the annual Red Ribbon Rally will follow from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Magazine Elementary School and Diamondback Stadium area. This free event features fun for the kids, free food and several other health-related seminars and booths. Please make plans to attend both of these free events. Rattler Family, here's a reminder that Magazine Schools Beta Club will be hosting its annual Magazine Schools and Community Talent Show at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Diamondback Arena. There will be elementary school, high school and staff, alumni and community member divisions. Entry forms are available at the high school and elementary school offices or by scanning the QR code in the graphic below. Entry forms are due by Tuesday, Nov. 4. The show will begin at 6 p.m. with the elementary school division. Plaques will be awarded to the winners of each division. There is no entry fee to compete, but admission for everyone (ages 5 and under will be admitted free) including contestants will be $5. Concessions will also be available.
