Rattler Family, we have an opportunity for our students, staff, alumni and community members to put their talents on display as our Magazine Beta Club is presenting its Magazine Talent Show at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, at Diamondback Arena. Talent divisions include elementary school, high school and staff, alumni and community members. Plaques will be awarded to all division winners. Entry forms are available at the elementary school and high school offices or by scanning the QR code in the flyer below. The deadline to enter is Tuesday, Nov. 3. There is no entry fee, but admission will be $5 for everyone with those age 5 or under admittee free. Concessions will be available. Rattler Family, junior Torie Nobles is a student in Introduction to Education, an course offered through Virtual Arkansas and our Distance Learning Center. As part of the course, she is required to complete classroom observation hours. This semester, she has been observing in Mrs. Chappell's second grade classroom. Mrs. Chappell said that Nobels is doing a good job in her classroom and "is actively engaging with students and willing to help in anyway. She’s hands on for sure. Rattler Family, there will be lots of Halloween fun coming up soon, and you won't want to miss the Magazine High School Junior Class' annual Haunted Hayride. You'll have three exciting nights to take in this popular event: Oct. 26 (7-10 p.m. departing from the football field), Oct. 28 (6:30-7:30 p.m. departing from the arena parking lot and 7:30-10 p.m. departing from the football field) and Oct. 29 (7-10 p.m. departing from the football field). Rattler Family, our junior high girls and boys and senior high girls and boys cross country runners braved the warmer temperatures on Tuesday afternoon to post some good finishes in the Emmett Barnett Memorial Tri-County Invitational at Waldron. Senior Serenity Mora finished second in the senior high girls division, while senior Cecilia Mora finished 21st. Junior Connor Hopper finished fourth in the senior boys division, while senior George Thawng finished 32nd. Rebekah Merritt finished 15th in the junior high girls division, while Alaric McCormick finished 59th in the junior boys division. Rattler Family, thank you for helping support our elementary school students through your purchase of popcorn during our recent popcorn fundraiser. Our top-selling popcorn fundraisers were: first place, Lilly Taschner (76 bags); second place, Oaklin Dennis and Rhett Shelton (40 bags each); and third place, Bayleigh Yelverton and Declan Stafford (17 bags each).
