Rattler Family, Magazine Schools dedicated its Freedom Week celebration to the late E.O. “June” Roberts, a Magazine native, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion for 72 years and VFW who passed away recently at the age of 104. He received the Purple Heart, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two Bronze Battle Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Star, the Distinguished Unit Badge, the Good Conduct Medal, the Silver Star Medal and the American Defense Medal with one Bronze Star. He was also a POW for 3 ½ years in numerous Japanese camps and a survivor of the Oryoku Maru. We wish to thank Magazine alumnus Johnny Bolinger and BN Focus Productions for photographing our elementary students’ American Flag tribute and creating this amazing photo illustration. Join us in celebrating freedom and honoring the memory of “June” Roberts and the sacrifices he made in the defense of freedom, our country and our community by liking and sharing this post. #RattlerPride #RattlerFamily #FreedomWeek
