Rattler Family, here's a reminder that a Magazine community outreach group will host a Back to School Clothes Closet for those needing assistance getting school clothes for their children in Pre-K through 12th grades. Families needing assistance will be able to shop/pick up clothing (two suits of clothes per student as long as supplies last) today (Friday, Aug. 2) from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Gloria Perry Community Center. Any clothing items that are not distributed will be used to stock the Magazine Schools clothes closet or donated to BHDC, the Maggie House or area children's shelters in need. Rattler Family, a Magazine community outreach group will host a Back to School Clothes Closet for those needing assistance getting school clothes for their children in Pre-K through 12th grades. The group will accept new or gently worn clothing donations at the Gloria Perry Community Center today through Thursday (July 31-Aug. 1) from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Families needing assistance will be able to shop/pick up clothing (two suits of clothes per student as long as supplies last) on Friday (Aug. 2)from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Gloria Perry Community Center with the three-day use of the building being donated by the City of Magazine. Monetary donations will also be accepted to go towards the purchase of undergarments and socks. Any clothing items that are not distributed will be used to stock the Magazine Schools clothes closet or donated to BHDC, the Maggie House or area children's shelters in need. Rattler Family, today was the first day of the United Way of the Fort Smith Area's annual Fill the Bus campaign to collect school supply donations for our area schools. Magazine Schools faculty and staff were on hand during the day today and will be on hand during the day tomorrow (Saturday, July 27) from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Booneville Walmart to take your school supply donations. Rattler Family, with the help of a grant from Dollar General, we have been able to support our Rattler Library on Wheels summer reading program and offer incentives for reading achievements of at least 20 minutes per day. If your child has been reading this summer and wants to go to the private reading incentive party at Daddio's Pinball and Arcade in Paris on Sunday, July 28, you must complete a permission slip (available at the two recently restocked book boxes in town) and return the permission slip to the administration building by 3 p.m. tomorrow (Friday, July 26) or you can email Karen Gipson (karen.gipson@magazinek12.com)). The bus will leave from the high school at 4 p.m. and return for pick up by 7 p.m. Admission and unlimited game time will be paid for through the grant.
