Rattler Family, as we draw closer to the holiday season, it's time to begin thinking about our area children of families in need during this Christmas season. Magazine Schools Athletics Department has a fun, exciting opportunity for you to help make Christmas brighter for those area children. Its third annual Coach Robert Dean Memorial Toy Toss Game will be on Friday (Dec. 20) at Diamondback Arena when Magazine hosts Scranton. It will be a two-game night with the senior high girls tipping off at 5 p.m. and the senior high boys following at about 6:30 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to bring a soft toy to the game, and when the Rattlers score their first point(s) against the Rockets in the senior high boys game, you will toss your toys onto the court in celebration. All toys and cash donations collected will go toward our area Toys for Tots campaign to provide Christmas gifts for our area children of families in need. The high school will have an adjusted daily schedule to accommodate semester testing, while the elementary school will have various dress-up days throughout the week. Rattler Parents of Seniors, here's a reminder that Magazine Schools is hosting a FASFA Application Night from 6-8 p.m. tomorrow night (Thursday, Dec. 12) at the high school library. This will be a come-and-go meeting so your senior can complete the 2025-26 FASFA application, which should take about 30 minutes. College representatives will be on hand to assist with the applications. Please remember that your senior will not be eligible for state and federal scholarships and grants if the application is not completed. Seniors must have their FASFA ID at least three (3) business days before completing the application. There will be drawings for food gift cards and VISA gift cards.
